Bristol Anglo-German Society

The Bristol Anglo-German Society was formed in 1981 to further interest in the German-speaking world among the people of Bristol and surrounding districts.

The society meets during the academic year to attend lectures, Konversationsabende and social events. The lectures, given by society members or guest speakers, cover a wide variety of topics. Some of the lectures are in German, as are the films that the society screens, while the monthly conversation evenings are sometimes supported by native German speakers.

The society organises an active social programme, with a Fruehschoppen in September, a Nikolausabend party and a summer garden party.

The Society is a registered charity, and associated with it is the Bristol Scheme Trust (also a charity), which supports young people wishing to live and work in Germany.

New members are welcome, and further information can be obtained from the secretary (see Contact details). To stay informed you can also join our mailing list here.
