Other events
In addition to the regular series of lectures, supper and film meetings and conversation evenings, the society also organises or is involved in a number of other events during the course of the year.

Frühschoppen
Sunday, 10th September
A Sunday morning drinks party to open the society's year. Held by kind invitation of Professors Frank and Gisela Shaw in their garden on Westbury Road, Bristol.

Annual Dinner

The society's formal annual dinner. Held at the Mansion House in Clifton.
The Neville Osborne Memorial Lecture
Monday, 20th November
Lecture by Frau Erika Mann, MEP for Lower Saxony
This event is held in November each year in memory of Neville Osborne, who probably did more than any other person in the 50 years following the War to foster good relations between Bristol and Germany. Generally held in the Great Hall of the Wills Memorial Building.

Nikolausabend Party
Wednesday, 6th December
The society's Christmas party. Held at the Bristol Commonwealth Society, with a dinner and singing of traditional German carols. Map.:
Annual General Meeting
Tuesday 16th January.
Held in the Department of Modern Languages, University of Bristol, Woodland Road. Entrance at rear of no. 21. Map
The AGM will be followed by a talk from Professor Frank Shaw entitled 'What did Napoleon do for the Germans?'.
